Hello everybody, hope you’re having a good day!
Summer is finally upon us and swimming season is about to start. I know one shouldn’t care so much about appearances, but if I don’t feel good in my body, I find it hard to show confidence in a bikini.
Now what you need to know about me is that I am definitely not one of those people who loves going to the gym and only eating air. (Not sure if that’s actually a thing, but you get what I mean.) I love food and I strongly dislike exercise, a combination that has left me after years of depression with not exactly a beach bod. Luckily for me, I apparently have good enough genes to not be horrifically overweighed. However, the thought of buying a new swimsuit this summer still left me with a big ball of anxiety in my gut.
I decided, that I need to drastically change my relationship to fitness. I signed up at a gym and set myself the goal to not eat any added sugar anymore.
And suddenly, overnight, I became a fitness obsessed model.
Or at least that’s what I was hoping for. (Spoiler alert: it didn’t happen!) I still think going for a run is the most tedious thing in the world. But I found that my gym has really nice yoga classes and some of the personal trainers are very nice to look at, while you’re gasping for breath on the treadmill. So I actually go to the gym quite regularly. (And by that I mean at the same time every week, not daily…)
But I mean… it’s something.
Well. The eating part. I’m not really sure why, but for some reason, every nutritionist in the world has suddenly decided that living on crisps and beer is not what you’re supposed to do. What? When did that happen?
I’m just gonna come out and say that I am the least consequential person ever to follow a diet. And I do love my snacks.
But I can’t eat anything with sugar, because… reasons. And stuff. So instead of my normal routine of cooling down with the help of my friends Ben & Jerry, I was drinking ice water. Like that’s two comparable foods. Pfft. Nope, not happening.
Luckily though, I’m a genius and know how to steal ideas from the internet. And that is how I ended up with these no added sugar, mostly healthy Frozen Yoghurt Berry Bites…
And let me tell you, I am OBSESSED! They are delicious, super easy to make and healthy-ish. I used plain greek yoghurt and berries in an ice cube tray and that’s it. Pop it in the freezer and have one (or five) whenever you crave something cool and sweet! Amazing!
This is definitely my favourite part about summer so far!
I hope you’ll enjoy these, and let me know if you decide to make them!
All the love, H.
